My school has four sport houses, namely Green, Yellow, Red and Blue. My friend got voted as the AJK Perhiasan Khemah, where you have to decorate the respective house's tent and win the event. Since we are in the same house and she's also my classmate, I agreed to help her and all along I thought it would be easy to decorate one...
So what happened is that the ideas she had was really hard to do, nearly impossible. The picture she showed on the tent looked round, with a bushy, tall tree sticking out of the tent. Okay... If we tried to simplify it, we may make it for the sports day. So, we started making leaves from cardboards and colouring them, most of the time.
[Gingerbread girl...? My 38 friend. Lol]
Then later on, she bought bamboo sticks and made a skeleton out of it, and it looked like a little boat! Of course, knives were used, so we can't do it in school or otherwise our parents would be called. Earlier we tried doing it at the MCA building near to our alma mater so that it would be easier for us to carry it to school after finishing it. Suddenly came two old farts, said we don't have any permissions to do it there! My friend has referred to our senior (ex-student) that we could do it in the building...
The old man said we can't be here doing our school stuff. The old lady went on barking and said, "Who is your senior, hah? All of you don't have any permission to come here at all and your so-called senior is a really well known 'Tai Koh' in this Kepong area! Go to his house to do this! What for you come here?!"
And then the rain came down pouring, flooding the MCA house reaallly fast! We've got no where to continue doing our stuff and pleaded whether we can put our materials (consists of a handful of long bamboo sticks only) in building, leaving at the corner... The old hag straight away said that there are aunties dancing in this room and we can't put anything there. OMG, bitch! It's raining cats and dogs outside and we only need to put it there temporarily! It's not like this building is your home or whatsoever. I'm sure the aunts wouldn't stick themselves to the wall and drag theimselves on the floor dancing! It doesn't fill up the whole damn building! It's only a tiny portion of the huge room!
So, in the end, I offered my friend to put all the stuff at my house for the time being and I went rushing for tuition. When I came back, they've already built the boat-like skeletons! It totally took the spaces at the porch... And they left it there for three days... It's really troublesome because it blocked one of the car from parking in and the clothesline was trapped in between! My family have to be careful to walk around so as to not to break the fragile bamboo.
What really pissed me off was after my friend said that they will take it to school to be installed, but she disintegrated it and rebuilt using new bamboos. **** (If your going to do this, why don't you tell me earlier instead?!) I got scolded by my parents for being nice but for no purpose at all! Okay, I forgave her on that (I didn't mentioned about it to her at all) and stayed back really late in school... Until 7pm!! Longest stay ever in my life. And you know what, we spent two hours going to and fro taking materials needed while most of the time we spent on it idling because we, who came to help her don't know what to do at all! We've got no idea on what she's thinking and she just went on being busy and smiling, stayed optimistic the whole day. From 10++ people left only 5 people, all girls to help. Even the 2 guys (classmates) left us. We have to tie thick rough strings about the skeleton to make it look round, but the skeleton itself couldn't support the tension of the string! We girls don't have the strength to do everything by ourselves! I got so mad and just left for home, sweaty, tired and hungry. I blamed it on all the really bad planning she has made. I've asked her, can she make it by doing so much in less than 2 weeks time? She's been positive all the time and was confident she can do it. She gained my support because I thought since this is the last year we will be in school, might as well we do our very best! But look, the main thing wasn't done at all and sports day is TOMORROW already. I'm surprised she could keep her cool.
After taking my dinner and having my injection, I went to help her in my another friend's house. My other friends told me she cried. Oh god. Am I to blame? She is the genuine happy-go-lucky girl and a really nice, friendly person. That's why I'm stunned by the news of her crying. I am really nasty when I'm tired and hungry but I didn't show it in front to her... Maybe the other girls helping as well told her about me. ==
More reinforcements arrived in the scene (Even parents came to help. So touched.) and they've being helping until morning, on the sports day itself. Of course the old folks couldn't take it and went home. Oh ya, the pair of skeleton with ropes tied on it was to make the tent look round by installing it on the left and right side, but it turned out to be hexagonal in shape... Sharp edges instead. And the tree couldn't make it and it turned out to look like vegetable, where you have a long stem and a few leaves on it? Nevermind. The preparation was almost complete and we have to go up and down from the house to school few times to carry the big stuffs on foot. We're doing it last minute, rushing to set up all the prepared materials and finally made it through. What a relief!
[Our tent! Though it didn't resemble just like what I've said, but it does looked good! *compared to other tents* XD]
[Gabriel and our lil cute mascot.^^]
At last, the result of the tent decoration event came in. We came second. Hmm... Not bad. But with all the hardwork, we should have gotten first! After sports day, we have to take it down immediately (after setting it up for so long!!!) or get risked of marks being cut. And oh, by the way, RM80 was our reward. Not enough to rejuvenate ourselves after sacrificing our sleep on it. Curse you all, teachers.
